update bios

Recommended by Wim's BIOS...

Have been told i need to update bios if i want to run windows XP.
my bios is 10/01/1999 AMD-75X-W977-6A6S2G0AC-00
AWARD MODULAR BIOS V6- 00PG
MAKE- GIGABYTE
Can anyone help with update thank you

Have a look onto the Board for a Model number like GA7IX or similar and then jump to www.gigabyte.com.tw

Oh, whoops, didn't realize what you were looking for. It looks like ACPI is fixed in some way so it should work with XP. But can't really comment on that. You'll have to try. If you do, let us know the results. TIA.

Thanks to those people that helped me find bios upgrades and have sucessfully upgraded bios. www.pcpitstop.com has a test to see if computer is ready for xp it now says yes.
Have another problem which has always been with the computer ,when playing games,music sound files etc computer will freeze at some stage any idears onthis problem please . have navida 256 aureal 8330 sound card 256 memory athlon 750 thanks.
