compaq presario v2000

I have a compaq presario v2000 that I bought last year in Canada. It was working ok, but last week something happened and stop to work. When I push the power button, the lights start in a loop and don't work.

Well, I was working in the evening, and I turn off the laptop and stop my job. In the morning, when I try to turn it on, it doesn't work. Just the lights star in a loop. Nothing work, just the lights.

Do you hear any sounds at all? Can you boot it from a windows CD or a recovery CD for testing?

No, I hear just the sound of the CD driver working 2 or 3 seconds. At the same time, the lights start in the loop.

Nothing in the screen. The screen is black all the time.

I put the windows CD but it doesn't work. I tried to take of all the batteries to reset the equipment but problem persists.
