Fastfame motherboard - need a BIOS update

Postby momo1892 » Sat Oct 21, 2006 3:08 pm

Hi there, I just replaced the board on my PC (it's very old) and ran CPU-Z to find out about the motherboard:

model: 693-686A
version: 3VAAV
chipset: VIA Apollo Pro, Rev. 44
southbridge: VT82C686

BIOS:
brand: Award Software International, Inc.
version: 6.00PG
date: 10/18/2000

I've tried searching the net but without success, apparently the company has gone out of business.

Can anyone help me find a BIOS update for this board? Thanks in advance...

Hello, I'm posting here because here I've found the closest answer to what I'm looking for.

I have Fastfame 8VT motherbord with bios id: 16/11/01-8363-686B-6A6LMFGAC-00

I've found this with one of the utilities from this website. Please can anyone help me with a bios update?
I have a Athlon XP 1800 processor on this motherboard but it detected as "unknwon processor type".

www.fastfame.com.tw does'n exist anylonger, I've tryed the chinese site's and driverguide.com, but I can't find anything for Fastfame 8VT.
Thank you.

it seems there is no FastFame 8VT mainboard..there are several mainboards from fastfame that start with 8VT like 8VTAV2, 8VTAE, 8VTMA, 8VTME, 8VTAA, 8VTAA+, 8VTAE2, 8VTMA2, 8VTME2..
Please take a look at your mainboard's markings which board exactly you own. Anyway, they might even all use the same bios..but that's still pure guess work.

The 8VT should have a VIA 686A southbridge but your Bios-ID shows 686B.

There may still be some bios versions avalibale for download via Internet Archive, try this:
http://web.archive.org/web/200412112108 ... WNLOAD.htm

Edit: is your board fullsize ATX or micro ATX ?

Hello. Thank you all for your answers. There is nothing written on my moterboard concerning the name or the manufacturer.
I've run a CTBios utility taken from this site and I've got the manufacturer and name of the motherboard from this utility results.
The motherboard it's a fullsize ATX.

Maybe the utility is wrong or it doesn't show everything.

Thank you.

Has anyone found a BIOS update for this board? I am trying to correct a memory issue on an older system running this same 8VT board, and the bios is from 05/04/2001. This old version apparently does not support WinXP, and that is what is running on here right now. Any suggestions?
