Need help finding M810LR/SiS 730s Vbios (yes 'V') upgrade

I've picked up a cheap 19" wide screen monitor to compliment my free computer I'm using for a MAME project. To get the full resolution out of the monitor I need to upgrade the VBIOS as per:

"If your VBIOS version is not 2.28.00 or later, you have to update your BIOS..."

Does anyone know where I can find updates to the vbios for this chipset?

Stop searching as you won't find anything, your SIS630/730 integrated VGA does not support this resolution. The FAQ section is about newer SIS740+ integrated VGA.

After reading more closely the link I provided, I see you are absolutely right!

Thanks for saving me further headache.

Now I need to get a fully functioning bios back on my system because the one I've got on there now doesn't recognize my CDROMs. Any suggestions?

1st I put an up-to-date factory bios on & one of my CDROMs dropped of.
2nd I put a honey bios on (from the link edwin provided) & I got an additional 50MHz out of my processor, but the other CDROM dropped off.

Remember to clear CMOS and to load Setup/Performance Defaults in Bios after flashing.

What do you mean by clear CMOS? Doesn't flashing the bios do that?
If not, when I set it to best performing defaults I thought that would. Maybe, I just need to clear CMOS & reset to best performing defaults & not re-flash my bios.

What do you think?

Flashing the BIOS doesn't clean the CMOS. Some flashers offer to clear the CMOS after flashing but that's an additional feature. After flashing a new BIOS one should always load setup/bios/performace defaults and quit saving. After that you can start setting up the BIOS your way.

The reason why you should load default settings after you flashed a BIOS is the following: many manufacturers hide certain options but they set default values for them. So if a BIOS update changes the default value to a hidden option it will only be used if you load default settings afterwards. Otherwise the old default setting (as saved in the CMOS) will be used even after the BIOS update.
