bios boot sequence

Wishes,

Can you tell me answers for following questions

(i) is any standard for all BIOS or any one of named BIOS.
(ii) which byte of CMOS carries the first boot device value.
(iii) is it changeable by a program without entering into bios setup by hitting del KEY.
(iv) which address of memory holds this CMOS Data for all systems

Kindly send me the complete answers for these questions because nobody except you can't give clear idea.
