:roll: I am in deep problem. My motherboard is Intel 440LX/EX and my bios is 08/26/1998-i440LX-Ali513-2A69JM2GC-00. I can't get my 40.0 GB WD detected. please help me find out a bios update or some posiible solution.

Can you give us the BIOS message, too? On the page you found the BIOS ID string, you'll see it further up-left.

Looks like TMC AI6NEL board. I think that it's the latest BIOS they released. I can send you patched version if you want to try it (at your own risk).
