More likely however you just need to start windows in safe mode and kick out the video card and restart to have it redetected. Sometimes bios upgrades wreak havoc in windows because they allocate resources different than they did before...
Thank you; I just wish I could.... The system hangs on the "Motherboard manufactured by Intel" logo (i assume this to be an "upgrade", i had no logo on the older BIOS) or, if i try to enter setup by F2, on the "Entering setup..." message. In any case I CAN see (so some video is going out the card) the BIOS version, date, RAM check and summary and IDE configuration.... and, then... NOTHING (No OS at all).
