i GET THE ERROR

CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded

Problem is that is where it stops. I can't get into the bios, I can't get past this screen. I have changed the battery thinking the battery was dead to no avail. The computer boots to the hard drive to so I ca't get to a dos prompt or even use the floppy

HELP!!

What make/model motherboard ?

Tried to enter Bios and load Setup/performance settings/Defaults ?
