Laptop motherboard built for Gateway. Not sure what manufacturer did this. Bios looks like standard Phoenix bios and they don't give names either. What do you need this information for?

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I currently purchased a new 160gb Seagate ATA harddrive for my laptop thinking that I could just plug and play. I've installed it, however my computer only reads it as a 131GB.
I've done some research online and everyone says I need the 48bit lba thing
http://www.48bitlba.com/
plus an updated bios.

I've looked on the gateway support site entering my serial etc however cannot find an updated bios to support my 160gb harddrive.

Any ideas on what else I can do?

Thanks![/url]
