Hi, How do I apply 12V to a soldered bios (ie: to a pin)?
The bios chip is: W49F002U.

I can't get boot block to work (floppy works when holding ctrl and home but I get 7 beeps) so I need to reset boot block by applying 12V to RESET pin.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

hardwire it with a switch. be sure you don't blow up the chip by adding at least a current limiting series resistor :)

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait. You get 7 beeps too?

We need to network. I get 7 beeps too and have no idea where to go from there. I have a POST scanner and pinouts of my ROM chip too. 7 beeps on an AMI bootblock recovery means "No flash EPROM detected", with no more useful information than that. How do you suggest applying 12 volts could fix that?

BTW, if you have a multimeter, use the amp-meter mode to use the two probes as a precision pin-shorter. ;)
