Hiya,

Can anyone help me identify the latest BIOS for my eMachines 540? I have tried to add a USB2/Firewire expansion card, but the pc won't boot after installation. The screen just stays blank. The only thing I can think of is the BIOS needs upgrading. I have run Bios Agent and got the following results back:

Bios ID: 71481.EM.0000.D.0201031401
PhoenixBios 4.0 Release 6.0
Bios Date: 01/03/02
Chipset: Intel Whitney 82810E Rev 3
OEM Sign-on: None
Super I/O: Unknown

The manual says the Motherboard is an LM810E

Any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Sam

hi, thanks for the reply, is there only one Lomita MB then? The site the link directs me too only has one option for bios, surely there should be one for each MB? Or is this just the one for mine? I'm just scared of making a mistake! Also, do I need a specific flash utility, or does the zip contain everything I need? Thank you, and sorry to be a nuisance!
