Post subject: HP Pavilion DV9393 Dead Bios |
|
|
| Hi everyone. I'm the "proud" owner of an HP Pavilion DV9393. I won't bother you with specs, if someone could help me he could find those in HP website, although I don't see how they are relevant. Anyway, first things first. I bought a new wireless card for my laptop because I wanted to test the new Draft-N protocol. After I bought it I found out about the so-called 104 BIOS error. So I Googled it. I found the solution and I started digging in my BIOS' hex to replace the numbers. I found it with WinHEX, repackaged it with Phoenix BIOS Editor and tried to Winphlash. But there was a checksum error. So I thought I should try overriding it. I think you know what's next. All I get when I open my laptop is a black screen. I tried several Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disks I found with Google, using a USB Disk but still nothing. Does anyone know what can I do next to fix it? Any kind of help would be REALLY appreciated. I'm really desperate and I don't want to pay 300 bucks to HP for a new system board. (I know I should have thought of that before flashing the darn thing.) Thanks in advance.
