I bought this used desktop PC earlier this year. It only has a 20gb hard drive, so I am wanting to replace it with a larger one.

Here's my info

Program: eSupport.com BIOS Agent Version 3.66
BIOS Date: 12/04/01
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 63-1800-001169-00101111-071595-SOLANO-1SOLANO
OEM Sign-On: A6351MS V1.8
Chipset: Intel 1130 rev 4
Superio: Winbond 627F/HF rev 7 found at port 2Eh
OS: WinXP SP2
CPU: Pentium III 1000 Mhz MAX: 1600 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 512K
Memory Installed: 512 MB
Memory Maximum: 1024 MB
Memory Slot 01: 256 MB
Memory Slot 02: 256 MB
ACPI Revision: Unknown

I have yet to figure out how to enter the Bios setup. The booting process starts with Intel Boot Agent which I can access by crtl+S, but that only configures the boot order. Once that finishes, I see the screen for the bios post, but I have yet to enter the setup. I can pause, but there's nothing on the screen to tell me how to enter setup.

If I want to replace the current HD with a larger HD, I believe I will need to update the bios. The most current is version 2.0.

If it makes any difference, the NIC is built in the motherboard.

Hi

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloa...34&prod_no=20

Bios update will allow 160 GB hard drive.

The model number is listed as MS-6215 but the mainboard below in the description is listed as the MS-6351.

Flash at your own Risk.

BTW - to anwer your question about getting into the bios, its the delete key.

Hope that helps.

BTW--I know about delete--but it does not work.

When booting, the MSI screen appears first.

Then the Intel Boot Agent screen, which CTRL-S enables access to only the Intel Boot Agent settings.

Then it finishes the AMI post.

At NO point does hitting delete, takes me to the CMOS settings.

We have another PC that has an AMI bios, I have never had a problem with that PC, but it doesn't have an Intel Boot Agent.

I have tried delete at all points, but short of disabling the Intel Boot Agent, I've hit a wall.

what happens when you press the 'ESC' key at the MSI screen?
