Post subject: Acer 1640z blank screen after flash |
|
|
hey,
i`ve been posting to another section but still had no answer .
i flashed my 1640z with a bios for an ATI graphics chipset, when mine has an intel one.
long story short... i was able to reflash it with the correct version now,
its booting normally, however the laptop screen will not work ....
the only way i can access the laptop is by connecting another monitor ...
is there any way to solve this issue?
thanx 4 ur time

what about flashing the correct bios? if you can't just send it in to Acer.
btw. the version you flashed can't be completely wrong because the system itself AND the external monitor still works.

cp thanks lots for the reply..
actually i was successful at flashing the correct bios.
ive tried all the available versions of bios for this laptop, even the backed up that i had after the first flash..
all of them have the same effect on the laptop monitor -- the backlight is on but nothing else...
at first when i tried connecting an external monitor: i was able to see the bios screen, then the "loading windows" screen, but when i was supposed to log in - the screen went blank... so i resolved this through pressing f8 after bios screen, and choosing enable VGA, which gave me the possibility of logging in to windows with no problems...
then i was able to login withhout the "enable VGA" after i reinstalled the VGA driver...
external monitor working, but internal monitor .. still .. not Sad
