i was trying to upgrade my ami bios for my sq578 motherboard, i made a startup disk and placed the rom file and the flash utility on floppy. i boot up and ran the flash and upgrade the bios but when i restart the computer it can't see the processor speed ,it says
"main processor :amd k6/"
"processor clock :pr"
"hit del to enter setup"
but the keyboard does not responds and the system just hangs. i tried removing the battry, i also tried clearing cmos with jumpers but the system just hangs. can i recover my bios ? how do i fix this board?

Looks like it hangs at CPU speed calculation - check jumpers and maybe try to change CPU frequency.

i tried all the clock frequency jumper settings but i had no luck, all i get is this

"main processor :amd k6/"
"processor clock :pr"
"checking nvram ..."
"hit del to enter setup"

is there any that i can reverse the bios upgrade?

i think that the flashing went bad, i used that same file to upgrade the bios without any problems before, then i put back the original bios code back on the bios. then i upgrade again. i did not get any error messages when flashing but i think something went wrong.
is there any way that i can flash the bios again?

Are you sure that it's BCM SQ578 board?
It's AMI BIOS so you can put AMIBOOT.ROM (rename correct BIOS to AMIBOOT.ROM) on a blank floppy and power up while holding Ctrl+Home to flash the BIOS automatically.

yes i am sure that i have BCM SQ578 board. i tried renaming the rom file to amiboot.rom and holding the ctrl and home key with a clean floppy in floppy drive with only amiboot.rom file on it here is the result after flashing.

""main processor :amd k6(tm)/300"
"processor clock :333mhz"
"checking nvram.. update ok!"
"hit del to enter setup"

the systym still hangs the del key don't responds and when i reboot this is what i get.

""main processor :amd k6(tm)/300"
"processor clock :333mhz"
"checking nvram.. "
"hit del to enter setup"

i tried changing the clock speed with jumpers but that dosen't help. i tried clearing cmos still same results. i also tried all version of the bios update on the website but system still hangs. what is my next move?

You don't have backup of the BIOS you had before?
