this is interesting of course.

microcode patches have been discussed on the web.

it is, however, hardly poss to implement new assembler-ops or redefine existing ops into others that would make much sense.

it is mostly used to disable buggy ops or parts. actual space for patches is somewhat limited. still the content of existing patches would be interesting to analyze ...
