I installed a drive in a system. Then went to load the OS (Windows ME). Put in the ME boot disk and a message comes up "There is an exsisting OS system if you continue your BIOS will be erased and replaced with a basic BIOS" I went to hit cancel but I accidentally hit enter. The CPU will boots everything seems to work fine except for the video. There is only one setting (16 color) . Is there any way for me to retreive the old BIOS.

Here is the information after running Bios Agent:

Program: Unicore BIOS Wizard Version 3.23
Program: eSupport.com BIOS Detect v1.2 July 21, 2003
BIOS Date: 07/31/01
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS ID: 07/31/2001-M787CLR-6A6LIH09C-00
OEM Sign-On: Release 07/31/2001 S
Chipset: VIA 82C601 rev 5
Superio: VIA 686 rev 34 found at port 7h
OS: Microsoft Windows ME Version: 4.90.3000
CPU Type: VIA C3 - 1 Giga Pro
CPU Speed: 667 Mhz
CPU Max: 500 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 256K
Memory Installed: 256 MB
Memory Maximum: 512 MB
Memory Slot 01: 0 MB
Memory Slot 02: 0 MB
Memory Slot 03: 256 MB
Memory Slot 04: 0 MB

The BIOS chip has a sticker on it that reads :
Phoenix Bios
D686
Phoenix 1998
021433421

I peeled the sticker off and there is another sticker that reads :
5 # A CS= 8961

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
K

The system BIOS has not been replaced. It sounds as though your video driver may have been replaced by a basic video driver. Right click on the desktop and click on Properties, then select the Settings tab, then Advanced Properties (I think, I'm on my W95 machine at the meoment). Check what the adapter is.
