i have a probleme witch error 1782 disk controller faillure

i well boot from my cdrom or a disque win 98se
how can y active the 1 er boot for boot on disk or cd rom.
how can a enter in the menu of the bios.

harddisk is dead. replace harddisk.

Usually pressing F10 at a critical moment during the boot sequence...

Setup may be stored on the HDD itself. You will have to visit the Compaq website and see if the F10 setup and Diagnostics Rompaqs are available for download for your machine type.
