USR Courier firmware upgrades

I have an external USRobotics V.34 Courier modem and would like to upgrade it to V.90. USR provides a firmware flash but the modem also needs an enable key from USR to activate 56k and USR no longer makes the key available. I have acquired another external V.90 Courier and would like to extract a copy of it's firmware to try flashing the V.34 modem with in the hope that the enable key will also transfer.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if it is, how I would go about doing it?
