Post subject: How to work? |
|
|
Hello everyone,
This is my first time over here.
I have a question how BIOS can catch the CPU FSB, Fan Speed, Temperature.
Is there a chip for hardware monitor chip on Motherboard?
How to send the data to BIOS?
Does it use Super I/O or RM Bus??
Thank you!!

Yes, there is typically a chip on the motherboard.
This page is the FAQ for a monitoring utility, and lists the chips that it can monitor.
LM79 had ISA and serial interfaces. LM80 uses I2C bus. Google is helpful..
