I have reed many of questions and answears on the forum about the 32 GB limitation. I did'nt find any solution to my problem !

I have installed a 40 GB Maxtor Hard Disk on my computer, an my system Hang when HDD detection if I don't install the 32 GB limitation jumper on my HD. Doing so, only 32 GB are detected !
I tried to find an update for my Bios but there is no on Biostar site neither on Award site.

Does a flashable Bios update exist ?
May I have to by an ATA 100 additional card ?
Do I have any other solution to use my all HD capacity ?

I have reed in some answers in the forum that some customs Bios are existing ! What about this soluytion ?

My Mobo is a Biostar M5ATC(socket 7)
My Bios is Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
Bios ID 08/11/98-ALI-154x-2A5KIB09-00
Bios Date 08 NOVEMBER 1998
Bios OEM signon ATC0811B
Chipset ALI M1531 rev 179

Solutions:

1. Capacity clipping jumper (that's what you did).
2. Add-On PCI IDE controller

and (rather new):

3. Patch the Bios (You can add up to 64GB then).

If you feel confident enough (in us and yourself) we can send you such a patched Bios, without any kind of warranty.
Just say "Yes, please".
We'd like to receive a success/failure report as well.

May I have some explanation to use the patched BIOS !
What kind of program do I need to install it in my eeprom ?
