Because the password has been published, Medion will surely offer "new" BIOS updates.

So, it is recommend to backup your current BIOS before you update your BIOS.

You were right Borg Number One. There was an update on november 2006 (http://www1.medion.de/downloads/download.pl?id=3605&type=treiber&filename=bio7204.exe).
The password seems working but it's really the same basic bios access.
All the new medion pc seems to have the same problem...

Hello “Borg Number One”,

I don’t know if you are still active on this forum.
Could you give us some information how you did to find the password of the old bios MEDION version?

I assume you unpacked the bios with a tool like “modbin6”. You got the different modules composing the bios.
Do you remember in which module the code checking the F11 password is stored?
Which disassember did you use ? IDA …

With some explanations, may be we would be able to do the same with the new firmware (for MS-7318 MD-8822).
The best would be to have the “old bios” you have hacked, and where is located the password code, and inside which module.
How to load the module in the disassembler? Where start the code?
Is the password in clear in the bios module?

Many thanks,
Philippe
