Post subject: installing new ram |

| k i have a gigabyte GA-7VAX and it originally had 256mb of ram and i put a 1g stick in it and it made no beeps or anything in slot3. i tryed in slot 2 an 1 but stil no beeps an not booting up. when i went to put the 256 back in it made continuous loud beeps and wouldnt boot up.

Make sure you mounted that 256MB stick properly (it's IN the slot not on top of it). Clear CMOS by unplugging system from wall socket, removing the battery and waiting for 15 minutes then put it back.

| well i tryed that but when i goto boot up again i get a continuous siries of loud beeps like its crying out for memory or somethin lol then when i put the 1g in an turn it on there are no beeps an no booting up

1) the 1GB stick is NOT compatible
2) you may have killed the board with it
