Open the case, check the sticker on the bios chip and reply with the markings.

thanks for the info.
unfortunately I cannot access the ftp site. I get a non working page.
is there another site that has these files. I'm surprised Chaintech doesn't post the older bios for their previous products on the website.

Hi guys, I was wondering if there is a way to find a PDF manual for this motherboard?
I tried contacting Chaintech but got no reply. Sad

thanks for the link but unfortunately the file is broken.

not a problem, as I kept digging around the net and found a pdf manual which I think is for my version of the motherboard.

Howdy, i got the same motherboard, i have look but i can't find if it support Pentiom 3 866Mhz 256k 1.7v (PGA 370).

I have bios version 11/04/1999 and when i look bios it detect it as PIII 650e. The documentation don't say if it can support PIII.

Can you give me a ideal?

Thanks you in advance.

It can support P3 but only the 100MHz FSB ones, not the 133MHz FSB ones. That 866 is a 133MHz one, if you take 100/133 * 866 = 650 so that makes perfect sense and it is also the max you will be able to run that 866 on with this board.

What about the memory support? The sticker on my board indicates "6WIVO" but I found the manual for the 6WIV and it indicates it only supports up to 256MB ram. But Crucial's memory configurator says the 6WIVO can support upto 512MB ram. I know there's a difference between the 6WIVO and 6WIV but who do I believe?

it's not 6wivo but 6wiv0 and chaintech has a habit of confusing people where it comes to type numbering. They often leave out that trailing zero. It's the same board, the manual might be old or they are talking about the amount per DIMM and Crucial is talking about the total amount the board can handle in both slots. Maximum is 512MB so 256MB per DIMM. I think you need low-density chips however so DIMMs with 16 chips each. Else they won't show their full amount. That is a chipset/hardware limit, no bios or driver will fix that.

You'll need Intel i440BX compatible memory sticks, the i810 has the same limitation regarding the maximum size per Slot.
