Ok, I may be a tad dangerous...last time I built a comp, AMD's 500 mhz was the fastest out there. So, technology has changed, but I stay up to speed. Recently just bought a bundle from TigerDirect.com. Bundle included the Abit SG80DC MB, and the Pentium D 840 3.2gGHz CPU. I cannot get Windows to load. My machine reboots at the 9 minute mark, and starts the whole process over. I have even switched HD's, and same result. Anyone have a clue why this is happening? Could this be a BIOS thing...if so, how do I load a new one? I have looked at other forums out there, and there are folks out there that have experience the same. If I just bought a junk MB...anyone have a decent priced MB for this processor, pc3200 DDR Ram 400mhz, with an AGP slot? Crying or Very sad

Can windows load only to a certain point then restarts, or does it load and after a while it restarts? Also make sure that your cpu cooler is properly seated on top of the cpu.

It's actually in the loading phase. The timer gets down to 9 minutes every time, then it shuts down and starts the whole process over. Fan (Ultra Fire) supports up to 3.8GHz, and is tighted down securely with a good amount of goo on the processor core

Make sure time and date are set correctly, use memtest86 to check on the memory stick, wait with connecting the machine to the internet until you have fully loaded the stuff and the firewall is in place.

Have you contacted tigerdirect.com about your problems yet?

I have the exact same problem, same OS, same vendor and same hardwere. I reloaded the BIOS, Flashed the BIOS and finally gave up and installed WINDOWS ME instead and it works fine. If any one discovers a solution I will be forever thankful. My Grand son is driving me nuts:))

Your grandson should be driving tigerdirect.com nuts, it's their stuff that isn't working as advertised.

I bought the same CPU/ MB combination from Tiger Direct last year and experienced the same issue. After many attempts to get it working I went back to Tiger Direct to find out that the CPU had been recalled! At the time, they replaced it with another CPU. The price of CPUs has come down so much that you might just want to swap out the CPU and try again. The MB has been running for the past 10 months without trouble for me.

I had the same problem and the same conpornents, I set the bios to fail safe and disable the floppy controller, and Windows xp installed perfect. It has something to do with the floppy controller. I won't buy a barebone from tigerdirect ever again.
