PostPosted: Thu Dec 27, 2007 10:45 am     Post subject: Can't set 1440x900 after reinstall windows xp Reply with quote

I have post here before, i have an ASUS A2H with a SiS M650 graphics card and a patched vbios v2.30. I have reinstalled the system with use of the recovery CD. I have also the newest SiS UniVGA3 drivers installed but cannot change the default monitor (button is disabled) and cannot change the resolution to 1440x900 pixels.

I have tried alot of things. Install and reinstall the system with use of the recovery CD of ASUS, remove the current drivers and install the new one, also tried a clean install with a Windows XP CD but can't get it to work. What's wrong? Before it works great.

It costs alot of time and i'm out of solutions to solve this, can anybody give me a hint how to solve this?

Strange thing is that when the driver is not installed it is possible to set the resolution to 1440x900. What can i do?

This thread is NOT about the ASUS A2H notebook. It is about the AsRock GE PRO-M2. So please open a new thread. But to be honest: i don't see the point in that because i already explained to you that there is no recent enough video bios available that supports 1440x900 AND the SIS301/2 video bridge (see: http://www.winischhofer.eu/linuxsispart1.shtml#12).

Hi,
like many other, I would like to have my Asrock GE PRO-M2 working with wide screen monitor.
Please, send me necessary VBIOS update, because I haven't found any other place on the Internet, where I could get one.

seems your mainboard bios didn't update at all. read the ASROCK pages on how to update a bios.

i hope that you renamed the file i sent you back to it's original extension (.zip), unpacked it and then tried to flash it. btw. that's what i've written in the email i sent you along with the bios.
