This laptop is OLD in computer years... Yes, I did know... It's a fossil... I got it (for free 8O ) because the last owner couldn't install Win7. After a long search I found a biosupdate , the 3C14, and it seems to be possible to use it on my aspire 1700 laptop.
Is there somebody who tried this update, or somebody who can confirm that it's possible to use this update without distroying the MB.

Please let me know.

Today I've tried, but no succes.
First I removed one of the memory modules.
Then I tried to install but I got a BSOD.
Then I took the other memory module and changed them, with the same resuld.

So, maybe..
Is there someone who has a bios-mod to help me to get rid of this @#$% problem??
