I tried to update my bios, and now when I boot up my computer I get a screen that says

BIOS ROM Checksum Error

What do I do to get around this, I don't really know what I'm doing here.
I have an ASUS P4T533

I tried downloading Uniflash and I still can't get it to work. Here is all of the information and messages I could find

Flash ROM Chip: SST 49LF004A/3.3v
Chipset: i850

I picked Flash BIOS Image from file to Flash TOM (without Boot Block)
The error message I get is Flash Data Verification Error

Please help, I really need this to be running again.

- Are those messages from Uniflash ?
- If so, I guess that means you can boot a diskette ?
- So can you use the flash utility supplied with the latest BIOS for the board ?
- Have you checked for a BIOS protection jumper ?

I can't find the flash utility directly from ASUS, I found something on their site called aflash, but when I run it I get some message about it not finding the bios' hook

Where do I find if I have this bios protection jumper

Precise error messages are always helpful :)

barry, i get the same boot hook error. your asus cd should have the awdflash bios flashing utility. this is the correct program to use for your flash.
i never got to run that awdflash program, as my comp will not post.
