Hi,
I sure someone has come arcoss this one before but I can't find a reference anywhere, when I use the Gigabiyte flash utlity to flash my bios I get the error 'bios ID error'.
I am upgrading my Gigabyte i440 6BXC from bios 2.1 to f4c (6bxc.f4c) so I can support a new 40 GB hard disk. I downloaded the bios a few times from the Gigabyte website and formatted a few disks but came up with the same error. I double check my motherboard to make sure it was a 6bxc.
Can I ingore the message and proceed to flash the bios or is there other bios updates I can us?
Thanks

Gigabyte changed the Bios-ID on newer Biosversions from the standard Award-ID to a specific Board-ID .
Latest Bios has GA6BXC00C-00 instead of 2A69KG0xx-xx
If you are sure you have a GA6BXC(printed onto your Board) flash your Bios. .

It's GA-6BXC so the new BIOS should be OK.
