Hi!
My bios id is 09/14/1998-577+ITE8661-2A5LEH0AC-00.
So I downloaded the flasher from pcchips ( http://www.pcchips.com.tw/BIOS.html ).
It asks: do you want to save your old bios? I answer yes, and then it hangs. the program displays "Now backup bios to file". I waited about 1h.
Can somebody help me?
btw:
please don't complain about my write style, I'm from Germany.
pcchips award flasher doesn't work
Hi CD9000 and welcome to another M577 owner.
Hints and tips for flashing M577:
- use a clean boot diskette with no autoexec.bat or config.sys, if you can't make one because you have ME or XP go to http://www.bootdisk.com
- make sure you can read the BIOS file from the diskette after copying it on, you don't want to find it's corrupt part way through.
- use Uniflash, available from Rainbow's site at http://www.pppr.sk/rainbow/programs.html#UniFlash
- use the patched M577 BIOS at http://wims.rainbow-software.org/ which is patched to allow the use of K6-2+/III+ with correct type speed display and disks up to 64 Gb.
I have K6-III/450 and IBM 40 Gb UDMA100 drive, using IBM Disk Feature Utility to set drive transfer rate to UDMA33.

Tested patched BIOSes. Untested patched BIOSes.

Thx!
That's 1 reason to update my bios. Although I have an amd k6-2 500mhz the bios tells me that I have an k6-2 400mhz. But directx diag tells me the correct value.
I'll try to update my bios with the help of your links.
If it doesn't work, I'll post again.
