Why is Uniflash v1.40 not able to detect 3.3v flash ROMs on a P4 mobo with SIS 730/740 chipset?
Does this mean that Uniflash works only with Intel chipset when flashing these 3.3V FWH Flash ROMs?
I've tried several known good 3.3V Flash ROMs already, including the original 3.3V Flash ROM that comes with the mobo.
I have checked the Uniflash Documentation and it says that these Flash ROMs are supported.
Unknown Flash with UniFlash
Maybe there's proprietary write protection used by motherboard manufacturer... What board is that?

I made a mistake with the chipset in my first post.
The board is ASUS P4VP-MX. Other details as follows:
Northbridge --- VIA VT8751A (or P4 M266A)
Southbridge --- VIA VT8235
Super I/O ------ Winbond W83697HF
BIOS ----------- AMI
Original Flash ROM --- SST 49LF030A --- 3.3V FWH x 256 KB
There is no write-protection jumper on the mobo, and no option in BIOS setup also.
Detected flash ROM but write error even on several retries:
PMC Pm49FL002T-33JC ---- 3.3V FWH x 256 KB
Unknown (but known good) flash ROMs:
SST 49LF004 ---- 3.3V FWH x 256 KB
Winbond W49V002FAP --- 3.3V FWH x 256 KB
Tried -FORCE xxxx and -REPAIR switches (also -AMI and -ASUS), but always resulted in write error even on several retries.
Any idea how to successfully hotflash above flash ROMs on this mobo with Uniflash?

Looks like Asus proprietary write protection... The -ASUS parameter was tested only on Asus boards with Award BIOS. The -AMI parameter does not work - I've tried it on many older boards and it never worked...

Thanks for this information.
But can I hotflash these 3.3V FWH flash ROMs on another mobo with similar 3.3V PLCC socket if the chipset is not intel?

Oh, that's another problem. FWH chipset are supported only by Intel (8xx and newer) chipsets. Other new chipsets use LPC chips (or standard JEDEC flash connected throught LPC Super I/O).
