i used the AWD, award flasher 8.12 for my
BIOS ID: 10/21/1998-i440BX-W977-2A69KTJAC

using the Totem TM-P2BXAT data file i found on the wims.rainbow-software.org site

using that it isn't the right file, incorrect file

so i'm wondering if its an issue whether i got the wrong data file to flash it with or the wrong flasher to flash it with

i'm doing this in order to fit a larger than 32gb hard drive.

sorry if i've posted too much but the thread i made in the other bios update issues board wasn't being responded to......=\ its been there for a day

Please post your FULL Bios ID including the BIOS OEM message (as the patched Bios has) looking like TM-P2BXAT Ver:1.3

Uniflash should work but unless your mainboard is properly identified either with full Bios-ID and/or looking for a model number on your board it may render your board useless (if the Bios is wrong) .

The 1.3 Bios is listet as upgrade for all revision of the P2-BXAT .
Maybe they changed the Bios-ID during 1.10 to 1.20 upgrade - who knows

Use Uniflash to update your Bios - make sure you make a backup copy of your old Bios stored on a freshly formated Floppy !

Dear acq128,

How can I make a backup copy of my current/old Bios onto a Floppy diskette, please?
Where and how can I find my current BIOS on my PC if I do not know its name?

Thanks

Go to www.uniflash.org and download the "executable files" 1.37.
Unzip the uniflash.doc and read it.
Follow the instructions.

Dear acq128,
I used the Uniflash flasher utility (Uniflash.exe unzipped from uf137 file) and the AWARD BIOS patched version AWD64 Patch to upgrade my Award Modular 4.51PG. It all worked fine. But my m/b is ECS P5ST-A.

Dear nickS,
thanks for your reply.
I've already done it by backing up the current/old BIOS file and CMOS image.
