Celeron not recognized

CPU Intel Celeron 2.8Ghz is not recognized by my motherboard. I suspect that it needs a new BIOS. Following please find the details. Many thanks for your help.

You have V1.1 BIOS. There's a V1.2 update, although there's no mention of changes to CPU support.

But... checking the CPU support section, it says that the Celeron 2.8 is properly recognized with V1.2 BIOS.

Thanks for your help. I have succeded in upgrading the bios.

Now can you please hint what settings in the bios must be changed to reactivate the onboard VGA since I am removing the AGP graphics card. Yesterday I went through the bios settings but did not find what settings I could have changed. Can you please indicate what are the bios settings to temper with inorder to activate the onboard VGA.

Can you please tell if Celeron D 2.8Ghz 478 pin is compatible with the above motherboard.

Celeron D = Prescott
No Prescott support on this board.

Try to get a FSB533 Pentium 4, faster than any Celeron.

On switching on the computer, it is telling me to press <del> to enter setup.

When pressing del nothing is happening. Is there a work around to get to the setup please.
