I need to modify the Compaq bios for this CPU. It is CPUID 0F29 2E... Intel P4M 2.6 gHz - SL6WZ. The box utilizes a custom 50 Watt PSU. This is the best processor I could find at 35 Watts consumption. I have the latest compaq bios as well as a bin file made with uniflash 1.40. Any help would be appreciated.

Need microcode and help accessing bios file. Or if someone can to do the mod, that would be awesome.

All the best!

Edwin,

Thanks for the reply. It was worth a try.

So far it works, but I have to hit F1 every boot and it is operating at 1.2 gHz.

Found another CPU, this one supposedly within specs but still getting microcode warning.

SL6QM P4 2.0 gHz

Any hope of getting the microcode into the Compaq Bios?

All the Best,

Yes, I have installed the latest bios from Compaq, v1.09. Could not find step info from Intel, but just found cpu-world claiming it is stepping D1.

Firstly did you get any better results...if not I had a simlar problem with my EVO.
I downloaded the business version bios fron ComPaq's site (686Y2 v3.06) and now my Evo reconizes my 2.8 Ghz P4...*NOTE: even with this bios the board will not reconize P4's with Hyper Threading.

P.S: I still have the file saved on my HD if you require it... ie: can't find it.
