Is there anyway to edit and or view a bios file to see what CPU's it supports?

AFAIK, you need to decompile the BIOS to do this...unless the BIOS writer provides this information in a Readme file.

This is all still regarding my post Possible dead Sony Vaio PCG-K415B Bios
A new bios chip has been ordered, programed & fitted and is still giving me the same problem.
So I am think ok it now has to be one of two things (1) CPU, or (2) Mainboard.
At this time I don't have a spare Socket 478 Motherboard to test the CPU, so I was thinking about buying a cheep Socket 478 CPU from ebay to see if the laptop would fire up.
On sony's web site it does not say what the min & max cpu speeds are support by this laptop, So I just wanted to find out if there is a way to find what the bios supports.
