Just got a k6-2+ processor (450 mhz) and when i plug it in i get a blamk screen so i m thinking it is my bios that need upgrading (voltage and everything else match)
current comp specs:
IBM aptiva 2153
cpu: 350 k6-2
MB: V70MA (made by acer)
bios signon: BM7B000-M15-981011-R04-B0 EN(latest bios)
chipset is ALi M1541
all the requirements for the processor but i belive the bios is too old 1998 i was wodering if any one had any experience wiht the motherbaord or knew if there was a bios form another MOBO that i could use. I already checked most of the k6-2+ sites but might have missed somthing.
ps: u can get a k6-2+ and k6-3+ off ebay.

I never patched an IBM or Acer BIOS before so I wouldn't know how the CPU recognition is done in this BIOS.
But you should be able to get the K6+ running by starting with a x3 multiplier setting. After bootup you can then increase the multiplier and enable Write-Allocation with a utility like CTU.
