Recently I bought for the kids Dell Dimension E310. It was not playing their games, and to my surprise, it turn out that I can not upgrade it with a decent video card because this thing does not have AGP of PCI2. So, I bought an used Dimension 5150 motherboard, and put it on the Dimension E310. Unfortunately the new MB bios halts the boot with a message "unsupported processor found". The processor is Pentium 4 ser. 521. I thought that Dimension 5150 would support this processor, at least that is what Dell web site says. My hope is that this is a bios upgrade issue, but I was not able to figure out how to update the bios. The 5150 MB is with version A00, and the newest version is A05. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated!

BTY, I am new in those things, and do not know how to modify bios, or add new processor micro-codes.

yes, I think a bios upgrade is in order here:
The following changes to A04 were made to create A05:

1. Add support for newer processors.
2. Add Sigmatel preparations for Windows Vista.
3. Improve boot menu support for Quick Resume technology.
4. Improve processor detection code.
5. Improve fan tables for newer processors.

Unfortunately, neither Dell web site, nor Dell customer support would tell me exactly which Pentium 4 processors are supported by Dimension 5150/E510 BIOS A00!
