I'm not asking how to overclock a CPU.
I don't want to overclock a CPU.
I don't like overclocking.
I have seen problems due to overclocking in some cases.
I have a system where I want to know if the CPU is overclocked.
Can I determine overclocking status without physically inspecting CPU?
Can I determine actual CPU specs without physically inspecting CPU?
I want to set the CPU correctly if it is overclocked.
Basically, the system seems to have some O/S stability issues no matter what I do and the only things I can think of that I have not thoroughly checked are:
CPU
IDE cables
Power Supply
This is still the PC Partner VIB878DS board, which seems as if it may have an intermittent fault if the above check out.
How can I tell if my CPU is overclocked?

Flash your BIOS at your own risk.
Thanks for the responses.
I ended up ejecting the CPU and installing a Pentium 233MHz MMX. This processor is not overclocked and from memory when I ejected the AMD and studied it I found that it also had been running at it's proper settings.
However, no improvement to system stability.
I still have one consideration that I can test for before again concluding that the board is faulty.

could you tell me in private about that stability problem, i have pc that every now and then just hangs, some days takes like 9 hourse before hangs and then it may hang 30min after reset again and after that work for 3 hours etc.. and i think mainboard has something (already IDE-0 not working, using IDE-1(secondary))
