My Magic-Pro MP-7VIP-DR4+ recongized my Sempron 2200+ as an Athlon 900Mhz. After some searching here and on Google, I found "BIOS Patcher" that can add new CPUIDs into Award BIOSes. But when I run it, it says

Code: Select all

error!
0012 No more matching files
This is the command I used:

Code: Select all

BP.exe bios.bin
BP.exe is Bios Patcher, bios.bin is the latest BIOS for the motherboard.

Here is the M08 BIOS for this motherboard:

Can anyone help?

Did you set up your board to run with 166MHz FSB (FSB333) ?

BP requires some additional files in order to run.

Anyway, that BIOS is quite recent... enough to recognize Semprons, I believe.

In the BIOS setup page, I can only set "CPU Host Clock" from 100 to 132Mhz.

cbrom.exe
lha.exe
reall.cod (although not used, the microcodes for Intel processors should be there AFAIK)

What version of BP are you using? 4.23?

That's one of the first releases. BP 4.51 is a lot better...

@Phil_123 :

Please take your manual and read it carefully how to change your FSB setting. A Bios only supporting between 100 and 132MHz usually means it's only capable of running with 100MHz or a setting by jumper is required.
Don't bother to patch your Bios unless you found out how to set the FSB !
