Any ideas?

It may be because of different processor CPUID that the bios does not recognise.

Does it still work with the PII-233?

Yes - it's still working with P2.
But with Cel is don't boot up at all - just black screen, no beeps etc.
And I found on the Net that oryginal TP390 doesn't work with MMC-1 Celerons. But I belive it's way to force it workinkg.
I tried to load Celeron MMC-1 microcode from the Net (maybe Intel www?) into bios using Phoenix BIOS Editor but it didn't help.
Can somebody help?

Microcode won't help if the 390 bios doesn't recognize the CPUID. Also L2 cache size is different in Pii and Celerons. Propably is best to return the Celly while the seller still remembers you...
