I have replaced the hard drive/memory/cdrom/cables on a Celeron 900 on INTEL chipset MB N1996 and when I get to WIndows 98 installation program system freezes up. CPU core temp. is 99 deg. Power supply is a new ATX 300W. Can this be a BIOS problem?

I did find on BIOS chipset a sticker that reads
6BTA3-C100N

6BTA3 WOULD APPEAR TO BE THE FLASH I NEED BUT I CHECKED AT THE SUGGESTED SITE AND THERE IS NO REFERENCE TO THAT BIOS FOR A FLASH. IT SEEMS LIKE BAD NEWS?

Tested Memory and it was fine. I added another cooling fan internally and the drive is running cool now. Tower is a mini so that must have caused the lack of air inside. Everything is okay now except that the CPU identification in System properties says it needs an update.< yet the system runs fine ...

Actually I just now have found a update at PC CHip (zanmatti.com) for the M748LMRT 19990702S 2M AMI Zip. I am jsut trying to download a manual from the same site so I am sure it is the right update.

I have a Motherboard I need to Identify
It boots a Celeron 333
and has the AMI BIOS

I need to update the BIOS and cant identify the motherboard amnufacturer.

Downloaded and installed the BIOS update and Voila!! it is now seeing the 40G drive so I am very happy. Thanks alot everyone.
