Hi, This is my first post her so bear with me!
I just purchased the Asus A8V-VM motherbard along with a 19" widescreen monitior (1440x900)
The onboard graphics allegedly supports resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 but this requires vbios 2.28.00
http://www.sis.com/support/support_faqs_4.htm
The newest ASUS motherboard bios does not contain this vga rom. Because of this i cannot access anything beyond 1280x1024. Powerstrip doesn't work either.
What I think I need to do is hack two bioses together,
This ASUS one which I'm currently using:

And this Foxconn one which contains the 2.28.00 vbios

I want to rip the vbios from the foxcon and reassemble it into the Asus bios.
What tools/utils will i need to do this, (extracting and compiling the components of the bios) and more importantly do you think it would work?
Thanks in advance

It won't help to flash your motherboard containing VIA/S3 OnBoard VGA with a SIS VGA ROM.
You'll probably end up with a dead board.
Try to update to the latest VGA drivers VIA/S3 offer, maybe there'ssomething new.
