Is there some way to make the BIOS output it's POST messages to a serial terminal? Say a VT52 or VT100? Also is it possible to get into the BIOS setup through such a terminal?

Has someone considered a hack to do this?

This would of course be for the benefit of using a headless Linux or Unix server.

I am really not a programmer and I don't know if this is difficult or easy to achieve? Alternatively some sort of virtual display through the ethernet card could possibly do the trick ssh way?
