Hi,

Many Phoenix BIOS'ses seem to use the PGX-format (Phoenix GrfX).

Here can you download the utility BMP2PGX which converts standard bitmaps into PGX format.

The source is on that page as well, maybe it's faster from this page than from the original russian page...

I see your website about Compaq Presario 45.
View the PhoenixDeco output for my Compaq Presario 4540
http://www.freewebs.com/lomax0r/phnxdeco-compaq.html

I am also use this computer, it is 430VX, I can not find 64MB SDRAM with 2MB chip, so still use 48MB ram.
I upgrade the CPU to K6-2-400 run at 400=6*66, it runs cool with the risk of cpu v core =2.8v
but the boot screen only display K6-2-300 when cpu speed is above 300MHz.
Do you know how to edit the bios to add the cpu code for K6-2-400 ?
Thank you vey much!

For the Compaq presario 4540 bios
http://www.freewebs.com/lomax0r/download/B016B00I.zip
or SP7107 from compaq ftp.
When I use BEDemo to open it,
error prompt "Support LZINT only!"
PhoenixDeco still can extract it,
but I don't know how to add cpu code to get right display.
By the way,
The K6-2-400 cpuid is 058Ch,
the same as K6-2-300, why display cannot show 400MHz.
Is there are other control for this in bios?
Thanks

PGX format is a really simple/easy BIOS logo format and it is similar to BMP.

To get more information about the PGX Format please check this out:

and check:
-ABR G2
-BMP2PGX (Amiboot taked it from the BNOBTC and oploaded it to his homepage.)
