I have a bit of a problem, I have just bought a Compaq C300EU Laptop which came with a Celeron M 420 CPU, now me being the engineer/fiddler that I am, thought I might try and put a T7200 Core 2 Duo mobile CPU in there seeing as they are both socket M pin compatible, and I 'thought' that because the F.05A bios is fairly new (09/06) it should include some Core 2 Duo microcode...?

Well, after swapping the T7200 in there it obviously post, and that's why I'm here..!

Right, now some things i've tried are using Phoedeco.exe to extract the C300EU's bios here (after winrar'ing the SP to get the bios.wph file):-

...and look at the extracted UPDATE0.ROM CPU code list to see if there was anything I could change, but I guess even if there was, I'm not 100% how to build everything back together again (I'm not that familiar with Phoenix bioses tbh).

I've also tried to flash the bios of a slightly different compaq laptop model that is very similar (which error's out), but does include Core 2 Duo support which is this one:-

Now, if I could find a way to take the extracted UPDATE0.ROM cpucode list from the V6150EA bios and merge/replace it into the C300 bios, I might be able to get this CPU working in there..?, but alas I'm not an expert at these matters, and wondered if any of you knowledgeable gents could help me out..?
