Thanx for reply Edwin,already read that page and all its says is NB M/board.I'am afraid that doesn't mean much to me(maybe just daft)so any info on m/board manufacturer would be great.

Going to upgrade friends laptop but have no manuals.Any help in identifying m/board REALLY appreciated. BIOS Type: American Megatrends BIOS ID: 62-0213-001403-00101111-071595-SIS630-340S001 OEM Sign-On: BIOS Ver 1.07 Chipset: SiS 630 rev 17 BIOS Date: 01/15/01 It is av Advent 5480 DVD laptop. Thanx!
