BIOS Updates forum

Hello everybody, today I've downloaded a bios update for my old freetech crane p5f84 from www.flexus.nl, but after flashing it correctly the machine, at reboot, plays 3 high beeps and 2 low ones. Nothing more on the screen and the machine stays hanged. If I put a disk on the floppy, the machine star...

Do you think I can try to flash it? Is there any recovery mode to put the original on if something goes wrong?

I tried...downloaded the last version (march 2001) and tried to program, but the awdflash says that my chip's part number is different from that one in the new bios...can I try the same? If something goes wrong, is there any procedure that can help me putting back the old bios?

Thanks a lot for your infos! I will try as soon as possible! As far as you know, those unexpected and unpredictable windows xp hangs can be solved by a bios upgrade?

Hi. It should be an EXTREME mb, but I think there's an identical model from Jama and Gigatech, but I can't find the internet site of the EXTREME and a bios from any of them. My version is dated 2000, I know there are newer ones. XP is hanging randomly and I think it's an ACPI trouble...thanks!
