Finally MB is Faulty!

Installed new HDD running xp pro on K7s5a MB after updating bios(with help from this board),however HDD keeps disappearing.Checked all the connections and cables(changed them).Sometimes when I boot it shows but more often than not it wont show or detect in the bios.Its driving me nuts.This new drive...

Updated the bios and the new HDDwas found,however could not get formatting to proceed beyond 0%.Drive has now disappeared and does no t show in bios.

Firstly old Hdd failed.Got a new one above but bios does not see it.Bios is Amibios of 20/09/01.Took hdd from another pc to see if it would boot (20Gig).Sees it ok but during boot sequence Error message appears saying it has to "shutdown to protect files".Original hdd was win98 and I want to load XP...

I posted earlier and was pointed in the right direction but the problems continue.Had to format my Hd and now XP Home edition will not load.Tried loading W98 and no problem.This HD had XP upgrade operating before this format but refuses to allow me to load XP either as a clean install or upgrade.No ...

Finally got around to having a look at this pc last night and found
2 pins bent on bios chip.Repaired and reset the bios .That part is ok but could not reload XP.Finally stuck in win 98 disk and after format everything seems ok.Will try Xp later.
