I have replaced the hard drive/memory/cdrom/cables on a Celeron 900 on INTEL chipset MB N1996 and when I get to WIndows 98 installation program system freezes up. CPU core temp. is 99 deg. Power supply is a new ATX 300W. Can this be a BIOS problem?
Thanks in advance

Please identify your motherboard. Oh, and BTW, do tell us next time the temp. unit you're using (ºC or ºF). We tend to use international units here.

The motherboard is a Micro Star MS-6315 and the CPU temp is 99 fahrenheit. If it was 99 celcius it would actually be running at about slightly more than 200 farhenheit which hardly seems reasonable for any CPU. I would have a burn out for sure :))
Anyway I will keep that in mind- sorry I forgot to give MB vendor.
Thanks

Perhaps a BIOS update wouldn't be a bad idea. If that doesn't solve it, then it's either a motherboard or cpu problem.
