I recently reformatted my HD and I was goin to reinstall my windows xp, so I changed the boot order in the bios and placed the cd-rom first in the order, but everytime i start my pc, it always starts looking for the floppy first. I was wondering if there's something else i need to change in the bios or if something non-bios related is the problem. (my cd-rom is detected in the bios btw). thanks

Probably option Fllopy seek is enabled.Set it to disabled. But it does not refer to boot and it should boot from CD anyway.Option floppy seek refers about tipe of floppy and it start to seek floppy before booting. When you set it do disable it choudnt seek floppy and should start boot in order You set in boot menu.

If You set first to boot from CD and if there is no boot CD in drive bios will jump to the next boot device You set in boot menu (floppy,HDD,etc.).But if You use original Windows XP CD it should boot from it.
